Browsing the Shelves

If you want to browse the shelves to find a book, try these call number sections:

For Washington: F 886 - F 899

For Seattle: F 899 .S4

For Oregon: F 871 - F 884

All three sections are on the Second Level.

Subject Headings

Subject Headings are short phrases that describe what a book is about. 

There are two main ways to use Subject Headings when searching.

The first way is to begin your search by choosing the "in subject" dropdown and putting a heading term in the search box:

The second way is to examine the Subject Headings attached to a book already found. Use the Details tab to see more about the book, including the Subject Headings. Clicking on a heading will give a new results list of books that have that same heading:
