Yes! We still have DVDs and VHS tapes available for your use. You can search in the SPU Library Catalog for titles, keywords, or people and limit your results by format.
To show a DVD in your classroom, you will have to use an external DVD drive. If you need one, you can borrow one from Computer and Information Systems. It is strongly recommended that you test this technology in the room you are teaching about a week before you are planning to show the film.
Many professors put their DVDs on reserve for the quarter that they are showing them. This practice ensures that your DVD will be available to you on the day you need it. It also allows for students who missed the showing or who want to watch the film again to see it in a timely fashion.
There is no way to show VHS tapes in the classrooms. Contact your liaison librarian about having a library-owned tape digitized for classroom use.
There are DVD and VHS players in the library on the Lower Level for student use.
