PSY 4103 Adv. Research Methods: Cross-Cultural Psychology

For this course, you'll be completing a few assignments*, including:

• Ethics Paper

Annotated Bibliography (5 pts) 

• minimum of five sources
• from at least two different categories of publication such as literature review, empirical study, clinical trials, books, etc.

APA Style Paper (15 pts) - 4 page paper (including the references page) describing a sensitive issue in doing psychological research with human participants, potential justifications for such research, and your personal opinion on conducting research with human participants that involves these risks.

• Main Project

Research Proposal (3 pts) – "an idea that can be tested"

APA Style Research Paper (30 pts) – Individually, you will write an approximately 8-12 page APA style paper on your project.

By the end of this course, students will be successful if they:

• formulate a topic relating to ethics in research and questions for a research proposal
• identify keywords/subjects that describe the topic/questions mentioned above
• create a preliminary search strategy
• revise search strategy as needed
• evaluate and select appropriate scholarly sources:
  • at least 5 sources on ethics in research 
  • at least 5 sources on main project
• identify a test/measure for use in methodology of research project
• create a properly formatted APA paper
