New Materials: College of Arts & Sciences with Liz

What is the Popular Fiction Collection?

In response to requests by members of the SPU community for “something good to read,” the SPU Library created the Popular Fiction Collection in March 2008. Take a look at the current titles here.

You can find these works of recent best-selling fiction on a vintage card catalog stand in the Reading Room (which is on the right after you enter the SPU Library) as well as on the top of shelves in the middle of the Main Level.

What you see is what you get!

The books are not listed in the Library’s catalog and do not go out through Summit, making this informal browsing collection a delightful surprise to those who visit our building.

All it takes is your SPU ID or alumni card to check out one of these gems and lose yourself in a good book!

For questions about the Popular Fiction Collection, contact the coordinating librarian, Liz Gruchala-Gilbert at 206-281-2790 or lgg@spu.edu.
