Popular Fiction Collection at the SPU Library: Popular Fiction Collection at the SPU Library

What is the Popular Fiction Collection?

In response to requests by members of the SPU community for “something good to read,” the SPU Library created the Popular Fiction Collection in March 2008.

From a humble and tentative beginning of 12 books, the collection now contains over 70 titles and has indeed proven to be popular.

You can find these works of recent best-selling fiction on a vintage card catalog and shelves in the Reading Room which is on the right as you are entering the SPU Library.

What you see is what you get!

The books are not listed in the Library’s catalog and do not go out through Summit, making this informal browsing collection a delightful surprise to those who visit our building.

All it takes is your SPU ID or alumni card to check out one of these gems and lose yourself in a good book!

For questions about the Popular Fiction Collection, contact the coordinating librarian, Liz Gruchala-Gilbert at 206-281-2790 or lgg@spu.edu.
