Key Features of our Discovery System - Video

We are making a change to serve you better

We have transitioned to a new discovery tool for finding materials in the SPU and Summit Libraries. Our library is one of the 37 Summit libraries implementing this shared system, which will enhance the discovery and sharing of resources within the Orbis Cascade Alliance.

  • Log in with your SPU username and password for all library resources - no need to recall your ID number or barcode when logging into the library discovery system or Summit Borrowing
  • More accurate linking to SPU owned full-text for electronic items
  • Improved browse searching - quickly find items when you know the author or title

What is changing?

We will continue to provide the same services, however, how you access them may look a little different.

  • Discovery - finding materials owned by SPU, Summit, and Libraries Worldwide (including Course Reserves)
    • SPU WorldCat Local and the Classic Catalog are being replaced with Primo
  •  Finding SPU owned full-text using Journals A-Z
    • Journals A-Z will become eJournals A-Z
  • You will be able to sign in with your SPU username and password to view your patron record

What is staying the same?  We are not immediately rolling out all aspects of the new discovery system, so these services remain unchanged for now:

  • Searching for Journal Articles using the Article and Research Databases or Subject Guide links
  •  Interlibrary Loan system (ILLiad)
